Jarmain "Juice" Merritt: A Catalyst for Change
Jarmain "Juice" Merritt is a dynamic force in the realm of violence prevention and community empowerment. His journey began within the confines of prison, where he discovered his calling as a catalyst for positive change. Serving as a volunteer for seven months with Cure Violence Global in Chicago, Illinois, Juice's commitment to transforming lives and communities became evident.
Upon reentering society in 2016, Juice's dedication deepened as he transitioned from volunteer to consultant for Cure Violence Global. In this role, he played a pivotal part in training and empowering 15 individuals, sending them across the globe to implement the Cure Violence Global model.
Recognized for his exceptional leadership, Juice earned a promotion to the position of National Trainer and Implementation Specialist. Over the past six years, he has successfully trained over 600 individuals, ranging from Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and Directors to Program Managers, Supervisors, Outreach Workers, Violence Interrupters, and State Representatives.
In a bold move toward broader impact, Juice decided to resign from Cure Violence Global, redirecting his passion to Elite Learners, Inc. in Brooklyn, New York. As an Associate Director, he collaborates with this community-based anti-violence organization, enriching lives through athletic, educational, developmental, and mentorship programs for all ages.
In addition to his work with Elite Learners Inc., Juice is pioneering his own initiative, "No Brothers Left Behind," a testament to his unwavering commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind on the journey to a safer, more harmonious society. With a heart dedicated to serving others and a vision for transformative change, Jarmain "Juice" Merritt continues to be a beacon of hope and inspiration in the realm of community empowerment and violence prevention.
